DR. CHARLES TYLER, SR., ESQ.

Dr. Charles Tyler, Sr. attended Morris College in Sumter, South Carolina.  He received his undergraduate degree in History Education from South Carolina State University in Orangeburg, South Carolina.  Attorney Tyler is a graduate of the University of Akron with a Master of Arts Degree in Education Administration, a Master of Public Administration and a Juris Doctor Degree from the University of Akron School of Law.  Dr. Tyler earned the Doctor on Ministry Degree from United Theological Seminary.  He earned the Certificate in Theology and Ministry from Princeton Theological Seminary and the Certificate in Mediation Skills from Northwestern University.

Charles Tyler, Sr. is a compassionate, dedicated attorney with his office in Akron Ohio.  He focuses his practice in the areas of criminal defense, bankruptcy, family law, estate planning and IRS 501(C) 3 Organizations.  He is admitted to practice law in the State of Ohio, the Northern District of Ohio Federal Court, the Southern District of Ohio Federal Court and the Colorado District Federal Court.  In addition to his law degree he holds certificates in general and divorce mediation from the University of Akron.  Attorney Tyler has served as a Summit County Prosecutor and has worked as an insurance defense attorney for State Auto Insurance Company.

Dr. Charles Tyler, Sr.  is a former member and former president of the Richmond Heights Local School Board.   He is a former member of the Council for Economic Opportunity of Greater Cleveland, Ohio State Bar Association Family Law Committee, Ohio State Bar Association Alternative Dispute Resolution Committee, the Ohio Bar Association, Akron Bar Association and the American Bar Association. He is a former member of the National Education Association and the National Education Association, Resolutions Committee and a former member of the Ohio School Boards Association and the National School Boards Association.  He is a member of the Council of School Attorneys.

Attorney Tyler is the former pastor of St. Luke African Methodist Episcopal Zion (A.M.E Zion) Church in New Castle, Pennsylvania, the former pastor of Beth-El A.M.E. Zion Church in Cleveland, Ohio, and the former pastor of First A.M.E. Zion Church in Columbus, Ohio.  He is the former Presiding Elder of the Trinidad and Tobago District.  He is the pastor of the Wesley Temple A.M.E. Zion Church in Akron, Ohio and the Presiding Elder of the Akron District, Ohio Annual Conference of the African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church.  He is a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Incorporated.

He is married to Mrs. Shannon Tyler and they are the proud parents of Charles Jr., Aaron, and Morgan.
